Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 13, 2026
Overview
ApplyDraft ("we", "our", or "us") is a job application automation tool that helps users create and manage job application emails. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use ApplyDraft at https://app.applydraft.com.
Google API Services — Limited Use Disclosure
ApplyDraft's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically: data obtained through the Gmail API is used only to create email drafts in the user's Gmail account on their behalf. We do not use this data for any other purpose, including advertising, profiling, or transfer to third parties.
Information We Collect
- Authentication data: When you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your email address and basic profile information (name, profile picture) to identify your account.
- Gmail access (
gmail.compose scope): If you connect your Gmail account, we request the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.compose permission. This scope allows us to create email drafts in your Gmail account only. We do not read, search, modify, or delete any of your existing emails or other Gmail data.
- Application data: Job requirements, target firm information, generated cover letters, and email templates you create within the app.
How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your identity and manage your account session.
- To create email drafts in your Gmail account when you generate job applications — drafts are placed in your Gmail Drafts folder for your review before you choose to send them.
- To generate personalized cover letters and application materials using AI (Anthropic Claude).
What We Do NOT Do
- We do not read, scan, or analyze your existing emails.
- We do not send emails on your behalf — we only create drafts for your review.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or Gmail data with third parties.
- We do not use your Gmail data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than creating drafts as described above.
- We do not store your Gmail password. We use OAuth 2.0 tokens, which you can revoke at any time.
- We do not transfer your Gmail data to AI models or any third-party service other than the Gmail API itself.
Data Storage and Security
Your account settings and OAuth tokens are stored securely in Supabase (our database provider), using encryption at rest and in transit. Application data (cover letters, templates, target firms) is stored on our server and associated with your user account. We retain your data as long as your account is active.
Third-Party Services
- Google OAuth & Gmail API: For account authentication and Gmail draft creation. See Google Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft OAuth: For authentication and Outlook draft creation.
- Supabase: For secure database and authentication infrastructure.
- Anthropic (Claude AI): For generating cover letters. Only your job description inputs are sent — no Gmail data is transmitted.
- Stripe: For payment processing. We do not store payment card details.
Your Rights and Data Deletion
- Disconnect Gmail: You can disconnect your Gmail account at any time in Settings → Email Accounts. This immediately removes all stored OAuth tokens.
- Revoke Google access: You can revoke ApplyDraft's access directly from your Google Account permissions page.
- Delete your account: To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at support@applydraft.com. We will process the request within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
